Since 1978, the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) has been the pre-eminent global organization concerned with sexual health and rights. Their membership represents thousands of sexologists from a variety of disciplines. With biennial congresses held in different regions of the world, WAS has facilitated sexual health through education, health promotion and networking for over three decades. In the recent years, WAS constituency has also become involved in advocating changes in public policy to recognize sexual health and rights as key ingredients in overall health and social justice.

The World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) has affiliations with global Federations made up of member organizations within countries/continents. At present, there is no Federation in North America for WAS to connect with, and hence no North America voice for sexuality within WAS. Recognizing the need for assistance to sexual health organizations, individuals, and professionals, to enhance their work around sexual health, a group of professionals and advocates are working toward starting a North American Federation for Sexual Health (Canada, US, Mexico and the Caribbean). We welcome your feedback.
